• Return to Wholeness, a DVD presenting therapeutic and practical options to women who have just been diagnosed with breast cancer. The DVD will be provided free to all women with this diagnosis in the State of Illinois.
• A film about new communities in Chicago neighborhoods, produced by Kartemquin Films and commissioned by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
• A film for the Biosophical Institute, documenting the organization and its mission. “Biosophy is the science and art of intelligent living based on the awareness and practice of spiritual values, ethical-social principles and character qualities essential to individual freedom and social harmony.” —Dr. Frederick Kettner
• Never Turning Back, a documentary about 88-year old artist and political activist Peggy Lipschutz and her famous chalk-talks. Lipschutz has been an activist since the 1920s and her community of supporters are clamoring for this documentary. The goal of the film is not only to celebrate the life and work of this unique woman, but to use Peggy’s life-long commitment to art and social change as inspiration for the next generation. Interviews with Pete Seeger, Ella Jenkins and Studs Terkel are included. Produced by Jerri Zbiral of The Collected Image.
• Singing in Darkness, a film by Sharon Karp, is a personal narrative chronicling her parents’ treacherous excape from the Nazis. In July 2008, family members and crew plan to follow and film the escape route over the Pyrenees.
